Volcanoes are mountains that have holes that's what some people think but there is a whole other story to volcanoes. In the earth we have 4 layers. We have crust which is basically our concrete then there’s magma. Magma is very hot; it's between 700 and 1,300 degrees. After that there’s the outer core and then the hottest layer which is the inner core which is extremely hot. It's hotter than flames! Then you may be wondering how does volcanoes explode well all the 4 layers in the world just has a teensy weensy bit of space so then it needs more space so then it just cant hold it anymore so it needs a place to explode so it explodes in the volcanoes so all the magma turns into lava. Mount St Helens volcano totally blasted away in the eruption in 1980. In 1982 Mexico last erupted-in the fourteenth century many people thought it was extinct. However in March or April, a series of terrible eruptions took place. They became the worst disasters in Mexico’s recent history. On 28th March El Chichon erupted and spewed a huge cloud of gas and ash into the air. It rose 27 km into the atmosphere in less than an hour! Not all volcanoes are found on land there are also some under the sea!!
